REPULSE REUNION SEPTEMBER 28th TO 30th 2012
HELD AT THE APOLLO HOTEL BIRMINGHAM
FRIDAY 28th September:- ALL ATTENDING STARTED TO ARRIVE FROM 1400hrs ONWARDS AND AFTER UNPACKING GATHERED IN
THE BAR FOR A FEW DRINKS TO RELAX AFTER THERE JOURNEY AND A CHAT.
IN THE EVENING WE BROKE INTO SMALL GROUPS AND WENT OUT FOR A MEAL, SOME WENT DOWN TO THE NAUTICAL CLUB.
WE ALL GATHERED BACK IN THE HOTEL BAR LATER FOR MORE LAMP SWINGING.
SATURDAY 29th:- AFTER BREAKFAST A SHORT AGM WAS HELD.
Frank opened the meeting welcoming everyone to the reunion. He first apologised for having to cancel the 2011 reunion which was to be held
in Portsmouth this was due to only 18 having booked, the Maratine club were very good to us and did return deposits.
next year will be the 45th Anniversary since Commissioning reunion will take place in Barrow dates to be announced later.
2010s reunion raffle raised £100 for help for heroes letter of thanks read out.
Secretary to look into Isle Of Wight tours organising future reunions this will take the task away from us they are very good at this and organise
many naval reunions, they use various hotels up and down the country.
It was proposed and seconded and carried that a form be sent to all members asking for a further subscription to the association.
It was thought that this might have been the last reunion but after a unanimous vote we will be carrying on.
To advertise the Association in the indepth magazine.
Frank said the 50th anniversary may only be a muster in London.

FOR THE REST OF THE DAY EVERYONE WENT THERE OWN WAY SOME SITE SEEING SOME SHOPPING IN BIRMINGHAM.
AT 1900 WE ALL GATHERED IN THE BAR FOR PRE DINNER DRINKS AT 2000 FRANK CALLED US ALL TO OUR TABLES FOR REUNION
DINNER.
MENU:- Mushroom soup
Lemon Sorbet
Chicken with vegitables
Cheescake surrounded with strawberries
followed by coffee and mints.
I BELIEVE THE LAST PERSON TO BED WAS AROUND 0200hrs UNLESS ANYONE NOSES DIFFERENT.
SUNDAY 30th:- AFTER BREAKFAST IT WAS GOOD BUYS ALTHOUGH SOME STAYED A FURTHER DAY AND TOOK THE CHANCE TO
GO THE THE NATIONAL ARBORETUM.
